Generalities
on Feng Shui
Introduction Feng
Shui is not a religion, and it is not magic. It is
not the solution to everything but it allows to live in harmony
with our environnement.
The oldest Feng Shui
School seems to date back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD). In
the beginning, the purpose of Feng Shui
was to correctly orient the graves of ancestors. . . for the very
practical reason that descendants would not be importuned but
rather favored.
Feng Shui deals with Qi
or Chi... This is the Universal Cosmic Energy that bathes us.It
is this same energy that yogis call prana, that ancient
alchemists tried to capture, that Acupuncture regulate and that
Eastern gymnastic or martial arts (Karate, Tai-Chi-Chuan,
Qi-Gong) use.
It's also the same cosmic energy that is used in
Holistic Medicines (Reiki . . . ). And it probably can be
compared to the Holy-Spirit that falls in tongues of flame during
the Pentecost.
There is good Qi (Sheng Qi) and bad Qi (Sha Qi).
This Cosmic Energy, is also called Earth Luck,
different from Heaven Luck (which is the Destiny, readable in the
different astrological charts) and from Man Luck (what we make of
our life).
Living in a malefic House may provoke, if we
believe old Chinese masters, one or several catastrophs of the
following list: injuries, fires, accidents, robberies,
adulteries, divorces, illness, bankruptcies. Even if our
astrological chart is auspicious, there are always periods of
weakness where Misfortune may overwhelm us if the House allows
it. . .
On the other hand, if our astrological Chart (our
destiny) is bad, we can nevertheless try to live in a harmonious
house.
Warning Feng
Shui is the Art of Mastering the Qi, the Breath
of the Dragon, the Cosmic Energy.
Our LuQi program will
help you but please remain careful and humble, don't open a
Pandora's box by changing everything in your house at the same
time.
Proceed by slight modifications and don't touch
sectors already in harmony.
After a modification, carefully check the next
events in your life.
Old alchemists used to say: "It's forbidden to
enter into the King's Palace without having been announced".
It's a long way to control the Qi,
but it's easy to upset it, specially when playing with the Fire
element or when activating stars N°2 and N°5.
Définition Feng
means Wind and Shui means Water: these
are the two basic tools of the Feng Shui practitioner.
Basically, we must stop the cosmic energy carried by Wind and
capture it with Water (oceans, rivers, lakes, streams but also
ponds, basins, bowls and fish tanks. . .).
Water or Wind must not run too fast, they would
otherwise take away the good energy. On the contrary, they must
flow calmly, along mild meanders, with serenity. Water must be
limpid, crystal clear. Neither stagnant nor putrid.
Feng Shui
is sometimes translated as "Chinese Geomancy", that is
divination thanks to the Earth. It is partly true, since one can
forecast the status of a house at a given date and therefore
imagine the corresponding climate in which will live its
residents.
Finally, Feng Shui is
the Art of Directions: how to find the bad or the good
directions, to orient the House, the entry door, the beds, the
desk, the eating-table...
It is also used for travelling:
some experts carefully plan their journey, in function of Time
and Space, leaning on the basic data of their astrological chart,
of their main residence and of hotels. It's like sailing into an
opposite wind.
Feng Shui finally
diagnoses the status of a house and proposes possible solutions
to improve the situation (cures).
Different
schools of Feng Shui The School
of the Form consists in a careful observation of the
surroundings of a house: hills, brooks and pools, buildings,
orientation, dominant winds. We must then find the underground or
air streams of energy (the Chi ).
Ancient Chinese call the
Earth Currents "Veins of the Dragon" and compare them
to the Acupuncture Channels that subtly cover the human body. The
jet streams were called the "Breath of the Dragon".
It
is also the school of common sense and intuition: we should look
after harmonious houses and avoid too much noise, draughts, bad
odors and electricity high-tension. And also views on disgraceful
buildings, aggressive pylons, mutilated tree, rapid ways,
industrial zones, cemeteries. . .
The School of the Compass allows
to refine this first and indispensable stage: according to the
orientation of the house (measured with the help of a compass)
and the building date, we establish an "Astrological (or
Numerological) Chart" of the house, that allocates three
numbers to each of the nine sectors of the house (called
Palaces).
Remark: Chinese Feng Shui Masters use a
special compass, called a Luo Pan, that
is a compass with a number of supplementary rings and
inscriptions: a Luo Pan is to our program LuQi
what is an abacus to a computer: one can make everything with it.
. . after thirty years of training.
The 9 Palaces of a House are found by mapping 9
equal square boxes on it. You can also trace a small central
circle, with 8 equal portions (pie chart). With the small central
circle, we have 9 sectors too.
The School of the Compass
is an attempt to put the Chi in equation and to describe it: this
description is function of the Yin and the Yang and the five
elements (Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wood) that are different
aspects the Chi. The Yi-King
theory, specially its 8 Basic Trigrams, is fundamental.
Different
Feng Shuis
The Xuan Kong Feng
Shui, or the art of making the stars fly (each star is in fact a
number between 1 to 9). One makes the stars fly according to
Space (orientation) and Time (building date), thus building a
Flying Stars Chart, that can be interpreted.
A Trigram is allocated to
each House, according to its orientation. The House is also
divided into Sectors, each being associated with a star,
Favorable or Unfavorable. We can then interpret these
combinations.
The personal Gua
number.
Schools examined hereabove
deal with a building. Its energy will affect all the residents
(but with differences according to their personal destiny).
But
some methods allow to calculate Favorable/Unfavorable Directions,
specific to the residents: their year of birth is associated
with a Trigram number (the Gua number). Each
Trigram is associated to a set of unfavorable and favorable
directions. There is a Gua per person plus one for the House.
. . it is sometimes difficult to conciliate them all!
In fact, the Gua number
method seems less effective than a Flying Stars Chart: it implies
that all persons born the same year would have the same
directions.
But we can use it as a
complement: first select the favorable zones of the house with
the Flying Stars Chart, then, inside a zone, choose your best
directions…
Zi Wei Dou Shu
Astrology An other way to obtain your own directions,
and in a far more personalized way, is to use your natal chart,
specially the Zi Wei Dou Shu Chart.
This chart consists in 12 boxes, each associated to a
direction. If a box (for example the Rat box, which
corresponds to the North) is mainly occupied by favorable
energies (they are 109 stars), then the Northern direction is
favorable to the owner of the chart.

Wei Dou Shu, you can try the Chinese module of our
PC program Izi Wai that

Four Pillars
Astrology There is an other Chinese astrology, the
"Four Pillars of the Destiny" or Ba Zi or
Zi Ping. It is available inside our
LuQi program: just click on the "Astro
Analysis" button and you will be able to build and analyze
your Chart.
The main interest of this astrology is to
determine your elemental qualities (i.e. the percentage of the
different elements in you, your forces and your weaknesses).
This can be useful for Feng Shui cures: if you lack the
Wood elemental quality, may be it could be interesting to
increase the Wood element in your house. We say perhaps, because
in some cases, this would a very bad idea: too much Wood in a
Palace could increase existing problems.
9 Star Ki
Astrology. It is based on the magical square of
Saturn, as the Flying Stars Feng Shui.
Our program LuQi allows you to
determine 9 Star Ki charts associated
to the Period, Year, Month, Day and Hour.
The "Astro
Analysis" button, together with the Four Pillars chart, will
calculate your 9 Star Ki
characteristics ( Main, Personnal and Energetic Numbers for
instance).
Easy Feng Shuis They are
to authentic Feng Shui what horoscopes in some newspapers are to
a personalized astrological analysis: they are rid of
complicated notions, they have eliminated all subtleties, and
they love generalities. . .
They often tell you to
suspend a chime to your door, to paint your entry door in red
(this can be dramatic, if this door is placed under a violent
configuration). . .
They have however the merit to make
people think about their habitat.

The Chinese Calendar is also very used by
Acupuncture, at least by Chrono-Acupuncture.
You can get
an idea of this field by downloading our Chronos
software for PC.
Remark: it is a software aimed at
professional Acupuncture practitioners: it computes the AcuPoints
which are opened, depending of the Day and Hour, thanks to
several ancestral methods: (Zi Wu Liu Zhu and
Ling Gui Ba Fa).
