  • 3.1 "If I buy a module, how will I be informed of the updates? (History and Patches)": 

    If you want, you'll receive EMails periodically. At any time, you can download the last version of the module, it will work
    without problem.

    Remark: Just save your local Base2.*  files before downloading, because they contain your own charts Data Base.

    3.2 "I have dowloaded from Ziff-Davis server or another software server. Do I have the latest version?"

    No. But you can upgrade your copy by downloading a complement (1 MB).

    4. "When first running King of the Stars, the following message appears: <<38: SHARE.EXE  non chargé/not loaded>> ": 

     With Windows 3.11, you just need to edit the file  C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI (with NOTEPAD editor for instance) and
      add the following line in the [386Enh] section:
              DEVICE=VSHARE.386
     
     With Windows 95, this line becomes DEVICE=VSHARE.VXD

    5. "When decompressing the downloaded files, the following message appears: <<Disk Violation>> ": 

      Same cause as in Question 4. Same remedy.

    6. "I cannot decompress" or "the installation asks for a diskette...":

    1)  Exit Windows and rerun it. This will remove all the temporary files, close other applications...

    2) If the problem still exists, this means the file is corrupted and need to be downloaded again.
        See here for Windows 95 or there for Windows 3.11. You'll find all the downloading possibilities.

    3) If you have got the KingKosA.zip file, don't use old DOS Unzip utilities for decompressing. Use Winzip or Netzip
        instead.

    4) If you have got the KingKosA.zip file, please decompress in a temporary directory, not in the final installation directory.

        Remark: If you have got the KingKosA.zip file, this means you do not have the latest version of our software..
                        Two solutions:
                                   A. You download the complete new version (4 MB).
                                        Advantage: you'll get a self-extractable file which allows a fully automatic installation and does not
                                                          ask for an Unizip utility.
                                   B. You continue your installation and download an update (1MB)

    5) If you have downloaded KinKosA.exe file, read herebelow is a message from InstallShield Corporation, concerning this
       problem:  "The most common reason is that the target system's TEMP variable is set to a directory which:

       Please check that your machine's TEMP directory:

       If this repertory contains too many files, try moving or deleting a number of them, and then rerun the installation.
       If they cannot be removed, you have to exit Windows and rerun it.

       Also close all other running applications including the applications running in the background,  like screen savers and
       anti-virus programs."

    7. "The program screens are too large for my display monitor - Some buttons are off screen.

    The resolution of your Display Monitor should be at least 800*600.

    ==> See what is the current resolution - Here is the way to know that:

                       Press the Start button of Window 95.
                       In the list displayed, select Parameters
                       In the window displayed, choose the icon Configuration Pannel.
                       In the window displayed, choose the icon Display.
                       In the screen displayed,   select the rightmost tab ("onglet"), called Configuration.
     
                       ==> In the new screen, look in the middle, on the right. What is written?
                                If it is 640x480, you have to choose 800x600 pixels, by pressing the bar.

    Remark:     You can move a window which is too big: clik on its header, maintain the left mouse button pressed
                      and move your hand on the left: the hidden part will appear.

    8. "I cannot generate any Natal Analysis"....

    It is due to the location where is the Microsoft program "Worpad.exe":
             1) Locate it with the search function of the Explorator Utility.
             2) Edit (with notpad) the file C:\KOS\THM.INI and check the path of Wordpad, in the section [TEXTEPRO]:
                                    => Check this line:   WORDPAD=C:\Progra~1\Access~1\Wordpad.exe
                                          Warning: respect the DOS syntax for this path: no name longer than 8 characters.
                                                         For instance, Access Files becomes Access~1

    9. "May I install on another Drive than C:  ?"

     Yes.
     However, if you notice any problem, please contact us.

    10. "I cannot print a chart" 

     1)  If the date of the file Kingstar.exe is earlier than 16 June 98, then download the last update.

     2)  If you still cannot print, then run Notepad and edit the Thm.ini file (located in C:\KOS).
         In the section [IMPRIMANTE], change the line ADJWEST=FALSE into ADJWEST=TRUE
         Note: if you don't have the keyword ADJWEST (but only ADJ),  your version is too old, update it.

    11. "Is King of the Stars compatible with both Windows 3.XX , Windows 95 and Windows 98?": 

     Yes. And Windows NT too.

    12. "Concerning Windows NT":

    If the date of the file Kingstar.exe is earlier than 18 August 98, download  the last update.

    13. "Concerning the software Four Pillars: is it  indépendant from King of the Stars?"

    Yes. It is independant from King of the Stars but can be installed in the same directory (C:\KOS by default).

    14. "What is the difference between Four Pillars and King of the Stars?"

    These two softwares are independant. But they can be installed in the same directory (C:\KOS by default).

    You can download both of them at http://www.delemme.com/etel.htm

    Four Pillars (1.1 MB) only deals with one point: the Four Pillars of the Destiny (Zi Ping), a specific technique of Chinese Astrology.

    King of the Stars (4 MB) deals with another aspect of Chinese Astrology, Zi Wei Dou Shu, but also with the Western Astrology. It is the only software in the world being so complete.
